Friday Focus - Art Parts!

Hello! It's Sue here and today I have the pleasure of focussing on the fabulous Wendy Vecchi Art Parts which you can find at an extra 15% discounted price at The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

There are lots of different types of Art Parts, above is just a small selection. All the pieces are pre-cut thick, durable paper board surfaces that are perfect for altering.

I decided to start with the Cake Stand and placed the base on some white card and then hand drew some scallops around the edge. I then cut it out and stamped over it using Cornflower Archival ink and the Reverse Dots stamp. I then stuck this onto the base.

I then cut a small piece of card and stamped over it using Dandelion Archival ink and the Vintage Tapestry stamp.  I then wrapped the card around the small post.

I painted the borders white with acrylic paint and when dry I stamped over the top using Cornflower Blue Archival ink and the Reverse Dots stamp.

I then  painted the top of the cake stand with white acrylic paint and stamped over it again using the Vintage Tapestry stamp but this time with Orange Blossom Archival ink.I also rubbed some Orange Blossom over the edge of the borders.

I took one of the frames from the Large Flourish Frames set and painted it with acrylic paint and when dry I spread some Crackle Paste over the top.

While the Crackle Paste was drying I painted one of the pieces from the Leaves set then patted Translucent Embossing Paste over the top. I put this to one side to let it dry and then blended Archival Ink over the top, which you'll see in a later photo.

Once the Crackle Paste was dry on the frame I used Potting Soil and Orange Blossom Archival ink and blended it over the frame.

I then die cut lots of flowers using the Tattered Flowers die, pressed Distress Inks on to my craft sheet and spritzed them with water. I then scrunched the flowers in the ink and water to break the fibres of the card.

I painted a piece of cardboard with brown acrylic paint then stamped the word Art from the Approved Art set. The panel was then attached to two little screw eyelets. I had this idea of the frame being the door to a garden, who knows where it will lead!

I layered the scrunched up flowers and then rubbed some Vintage Photo Distress ink over the edges.

The butterfly is from the Natures Art set and I stamped it onto card that I've blended Dandelion and Orange Blossom Archival ink over. I then stamped the butterfly again onto Clearly for Art, cut it out and layered it on top.

The fabulous dragonfly and the little ring handle are also from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I hope you've enjoyed today's focus on Art Parts which you can find for that extra special discounted price HERE at The Funkie Junkie Boutique! And remember, there's also a very special mid-Summer Sizzix sale taking place through August 11th on all in stock dies and embossing folders, with an extra 15% discount applied  there too (this does not include pre-orders) so grab those bargains!
